What a great, fun-filled weekend I had. On Friday Me, Ali, Gabi, Mindi, Little Whit, Jess, Suz, Madie, Gabi and Grandma went up to Park City to have one last girls weekend before Jess left to Russia. On Friday we went to dinner, ate yummy apples, and giggled all night in the hotel room. Saturday we went on a three hour train ride on the Heber Creeper. It was a lot of fun and I even had a very enjoyable nap. The scenery was beautiful and the company of course was great. After that we went to the yummiest cafe, "Spin Cafe" delicious! I am craving it as I write. Then we went to hang out with Janie and Jenny at the resort they were staying at, which was beautiful! That is when we got to ride the carousel, so much fun. It did cost $2 dollars, but it was well worth it. Then of course we went to the outlet malls. It was a great weekend and it is always fun to get together with family.

Sunday we threw a "Goodbye" party for Jessie before she left to Russia. We had it in my parents backyard and a ton of people came and we had tons of yummy desserts. It was neat to see how many people love and care about Jessie, she has such a fun personality and everyone just loves being around her because she is so positive and has such a great attitude. I just love her and I already miss her so much, she left this morning and I already want her to come home. I do know that it is going to be a great experience for her and she will learn lots and lots.

Monday was my first day of school and what an adventure. I am taking the TRAXS up to the U to save on gas and man I had no idea what kind of people rode on the TRAXS, in the nicest way possible they were "crazies" for lack of a better term. I don't mean to be rude by any means but what a culture shock for me. I was sitting next to a guy that kept saying, "I need to get some more crack." he kept asking me for some and of course I said, "Ya let me just pull that out of my back pack for you." I mean come on, do I look like I have crack. You might also be wondering why I was sitting next to him well lets just say he smelt nice, well okay actually he did not, but anyway the TRAXS were packed and I was the only person left with an available seat so of course I let him sit down. Well anyway it made me really grateful for the great life that I have. At least I will be entertained on the TRAXS. I love school and I had a great first day, I really enjoy to learn and I love being able to stretch my mind and really think. Hopefully life will not get too crazy! Also that night we had a family night with just my immediate family and it was a great experience for me we each shared our favorite scripture with Jessie and gave her some advice for when she is gone, the spirit was so strong and it was a really nice bonding experience for all of us. Then my dad gave her a priesthood blessing which was really neat to witness. Thank goodness for family and for the priesthood. I love this church it brings forth great blessings to me and my family. Well it has been a great weekend and a great week so far. Good luck Jessie, I love you! And of course I have to end by giving a shout out to my hubby, Aron, "I love you and miss you."

I did it...And lived to tell the tale

So it is Monday and yes I am alive. I ran my first 1/2 marathon on Saturday in Provo. What a cool experience. I ran it with my super cool cousins Jenny and Turk and my awesome aunt Lori. I do have pictures to prove my attendance and if you saw me walk you would know. I can't believe what 13.1 miles can do to your body, I even trained quite a bit and I am still so sore. I really enjoy running and I am proud of myself for accomplishing one of my goals. I am very good at setting goals but very few of them ever get fulfilled and for once I followed through.
I woke up on Saturday morning at 4:30 AM which was not too bad because I could not sleep because I was excited and nervous. Then we drove to Provo, used the restroom, got on the bus and arrived at the starting point. I could not believe how many people were there, it was a pretty neat thing to see. It was really fun running down the provo canyon, Bridal Veil falls is quite beautiful, I will have to go visit it again when I am mentally capable of enjoying it.
I did run the whole 13.1 miles which was what I was hoping for, I was hoping to get this big burst of energy at the end but in fact quite the opposite happened. I finished in 1 hour and 55 minutes and my goal was 2 hours so I was happy to get under what I thought I was going to do it in. I really think I will be a 1/2 marathon runner in the future and I am playing around with the idea of running a full but I am not sold yet.
After the race I went home and painted one of the extra bedrooms with my mom all day, went to a reception, went grocery shopping, came home with my mom finished painting the room and went to bed at 1:30 PM, it was a long day. I am glad that I did keep my body moving so I would not get to stiff. But that night I could not sleep very well because I kept having nightmares that I could not move because my body was so stiff so I kept waking up to keep my body moving. Kind of funny.
Thank you to all the emails and text messages of support and encouragement, it really means alot to me that so many people care about me. I don't know how I got so lucky to have such great friends, it is the greatest blessing to have such a great support team while Aron is gone. So thank you, thank you, thank you!
Also I would like to thank Burgandy for her sweet blog post wishing me good luck so now it is my turn to wish her good luck. GOOD LUCK BURGANDY, you will do great. You are awesome and can't wait to hear how it goes. I know you have a couple of weeks, so when it gets closer I will wish you GOOD LUCK again.
Pictures of the event to come soon...

My Celebrity Crush John Mayer

We are allowed one Celebrity Crush, right?

Well I am a little behind on bloggin but I will get caught up. On July 21st Me, Ali, Mindi and Jessie went to the John Mayer concert at Usana. Aron bought me four tickets for my birthday and he told me to take three people and have a fun girls night out, and believe me we had a blast. The concert was great, John Mayer was fabulous and the crowd was a hoot. I am such a people watcher, I love watching those around me, I was so entertained by the music and those around me. Thanks Aron for a great birthday present, we had such a blast. I love just laughing and goofing off with those I love.

Life after John Mayer has been great. I have gone to Girls Camp,I have had school orientation, I have been training for my half marathon which is on Saturday (YIKES), I have painted our whole upstairs of course with lots and lots of help from my family, and I have been completley wrapped up in "Breaking Dawn." So nothing too exciting, I must say though that Girls Camp was exciting and it was a really good experience for me, I had a blast. I did realize that I really do not like to go camping for longer than a night.

I am just grateful that the summer is going fast because at the end of September I get to spend 2 whole weeks with my husband. I really just can't wait, I thought that this whole deployment thing would get easier but to be honest it has not been easy and it is not getting easier. I am grateful for the other Army Wives in Aron's company because they have been a huge support and it has been fun getting to know their familes and spending time with them. So thank you! Life is busy and is going well.

Thanks again Aron for the John Mayer tickets we had FUN! Thank you to Jess, Mindi and Ali for going with me you gals are just simply amazing.
