Gordon B. Hinckley

1910-2008

Gordon B. Hinckley, what a wonderful man. You can't help but smile when you think of our beloved prophet.

Aaron and I were playing a card game when I got a text message from my brother-in-law informing us that Gordon B. Hinckley passed away at the age of 97. At first I was kind of shocked, and then as we watched the news I realized that he really had passed away. What a legacy Gordon B. Hinckley left behind, he truly was a remarkable man and he did so much for the church. I started remembering the fireside I attended when I was younger when he introduced the 6 B's, and how that talk changed my life. All of his talks he gave inspired me in one way or another. I feel so lucky to know that death is not the end and that it is a beginning to a whole new life. What a great reunion it was for Gordon B. Hinckley to be reunited with his wife, Marjorie. I am so thankful that families can be together forever.

I am so blessed to know that Gordon B. Hinckley was a true prophet of God and I am so grateful that I was able to listen to so many of his talks for so many years at General Conferences, Firesides, etc.

Words really can't describe the impact Gordon B. Hinckley had on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints and also in my life. He was really just the sweetest old man, so full of life and spunk. He will always be such a great example to me.

I am an American Soldier (Tribute to Aaron)

I am an American Soldier.
I am a Warrior and a member of a team.
I serve the people of the United States
and live the Army Values.
I will always place the mission first.
I will never accept defeat.
I will never quit.
I will never leave a fallen comrade.
I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills. I always maintain my arms, my equipment and myself.
I am an expert and I am a professional.
I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy the enemies of the United States of America in close combat.
I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life.
I am an American Soldier.
I just wanted to take a minute and thank my husband for serving for our country so that I can live in a free land. I want him to know that I support him 100%, even though this is the hardest thing I have ever had to do, I will stand by him through thick and thin. Aaron started training today and man it was really tough to say goodbye to him this morning. I know this next month he will be able to come home some nights and others he will need to stay at Camp Williams, but it was still really hard. He will be working Monday-Sunday from 7:00AM to about 6:00 PM. Aaron never complains about not having a day off, being too tired, or wishing he did not have to work, he goes every day for each and every one of us. He knows that he is fighting for our freedoms. I admire that about Aaron he is so strong and he never complains, it has taught me a great lesson. He is an amazing man and I am honored to call him my husband. These last couple of days have been extremely hard for me. Everytime I think about Aaron leaving I start to cry, I know that my Heavenly Father will help me through this year and he has already made me stonger.
I just wanted to write down what I have been feeling lately so as the time goes by I will see that it will get easier. I know lots of people who have had to send off husbands, wives, dads, cousins, friends, etc so it is nice to know that I am not the only one going through this.
I want to thank all my friends and family for all their love and support through these last couple of weeks.
I threw Aaron a party on Saturday and it went really well, we have the best family and friends I will post pictures soon. Thank you to all of those who helped with the party, it would have not been the same without your help.It was awesome.
Thank you Aaron for serving our country. I love you so much you are the best thing that has ever happened to me and I am going to miss you tons and tons. You are an INCERDIBLE AMERICAN SOLDIER!

So this post is long, long, overdue! So I will start with Christmas and see where this post leads me! I am trying to get a post in before Valentine's day, man where does the time go. This might be a little overwheliming trying to update everything that has happended in the last month. I have no excuse for my neglect on our blog, I just have too much fun looking at everyone else's blog. So tonight is the night to update.

Our Holiday's were incredible, I enjoyed every minute of it. I also loved all the nice presents I received. Our parents spoiled us! I love Christmas, I love driving down the road and seeing everyone's festive lights, and I love reflecting on the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. We spent lots of time with family, it was awhile ago so now I can't remember every detail. We went to Gateway with my College roommates in December with our husbands. We went to California Pizza Kitchen which was really yummy, and we had a great time with our friends. I feel so blessed to have such great friends, I laugh so hard when I am with them. It is always good times.
In December we also went to the Hogle Zoo with Nate, Brooke (my super cute cousin), Katie and Dan. The Hogle Zoo had Christmas light displays this year. It was pretty clever, it just might be a new tradition. I also got to see the white Alligator, which was really neat.

On New Years Eve we went to Snowbird to watch some fireworks and drink some hot chocolate, we went with Zach and Chelsea. It was really fun, after that we came back to our place and played some rock band, watched a movie and tried not to fall asleep before midnight. I think I might have had a little cat nap during the movie. It was a great start to a great new year!

7 highlights in 07

1. Sealed for all time and eternity to my husband Aaron- ( It has almost been a year since I got married) CRAZY!

2007 was so great, I have so many things to be grateful for. I am excited to make 2008 great. Oh and one of my new year resolutions is no soda pop, I have gone three weeks without it. YIPPY! I am sorry this post is so jumpy and all over the place, my thoughts just are not organized. I think that covers most of December and some of January. So now lets go to present day.

Present Day
Aaron is getting ready to leave in about a month so I am just preparing for him to leave. It is getting really hard knowing he will not be home for a year, but I know that my Heavenly Father is helping me to be strong. I just got a new calling which I love, so I know that will keep me busy. I am throwing Aaron a going away party on Saturday, January 19th so that has been occupying my time this last week, I have just been stressin about food, decorations, how many people will be coming, and the list goes on and on. So I will post pictures of Aaron's party this coming week. Also this week I had book club, which I look forward to every month, because I just love the ladies in my ward they are all such great example. The book we just got done reading is: "Prize Winner of Defiane,Ohio" It was a very good book. Last Sunday Aaron and I went to my Aunt Cyndi's house to see my Aunt & Uncle before they leave on their mission to Figi. It was fun to see family that I haven't seen for awhile, it is always nice to catch up. It was a very nice Sunday, we have 9:00 church now and I love it! Overall this week has been great! I think that is all for tonight. Oh Aaron did get a new I-pod Touch so he has been pretty occupied with that this week. Technology is crazy, this little thing can do everything.

Life could not be any better.
